Golden Knights switch goalies for Game 5 against Stars

The Vegas Golden Knights changed their goaltender for Game 5 of their Western Conference first-round playoff series against the Dallas Stars on Wednesday night at American Airlines Center in Dallas.

The series is tied 2-2.

According to Nicholas J. Cotsonika of NHL.com, Adin Hill will replace Logan Thompson, who started the first four games. Thompson is 2-2 with a 2.35 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage in the series.

Hill was 5-10-0 with a 3.72 GAA and an .875 save percentage in his last 16 regular-season starts and has not played since April 18. Last season, he took over during Game 3 of the second-round series against the Edmonton Oilers. He went 11-4 with a 2.21 goals-against average and .932 save percentage as Vegas won the Stanley Cup.

“I thought Logan has played well, put us in a good spot,” Cassidy said, via Cotsonika. “It’s 2-2, done his job. Adin has been through this, so that’s a little bit that goes into the decision. There’s an experienced guy that’s come into this situation before, so that’s essentially the thought process.
