Frank Gore Jr. isn’t pleased.
Gore Jr., the son of San Francisco 49ers great Frank Gore, slid down the board and out of the NFL Draft until the Buffalo Bills finally came calling as an undrafted free agent.
The Southern Mississippi product sounded off on how going undrafted has motivated him as the team begins rookie minicamp and the offseason program.
“It pushed me a lot,” Gore told reporters regarding the motivation from being undrafted. “I feel like there’s no way 257 people [were] better than me in this draft, but now that that process is over, I’m a Bill. I’m here to compete and I’m here to push my teammates and push the running back room and try to get on special teams.”
Gore arrives in Western New York, having rushed for 4,022 yards with 26 touchdowns, and scoring 41 total scores during his collegiate career. It is likely an uphill climb for Gore Jr. to follow in his father’s footsteps, but he certainly has the added motivation to make it happen.More must-reads:
